A New Launch With A New Twist
Well, according to my stats, there are still a good number of folks subscribed to this blog. Now either that’s because you’re just too lazy to unsubscribe, or you’re hoping for a return, where I will begin to write some excellent tips and useful articles for bloggers. Whatever the case, I’m inviting you to my new venture.
If you can write to a niche, then you’re to be commended. I however, cannot. I have too many interests, and too many diverse and random thoughts which vary from day-to-day. As a result, I’ve rebranded my personal site, with a new url and a different atmosphere to accomodate that and my readers.
What will be different?
Well, I’m a Christian, so I’ll still be writing stuff that relates to my faith. I’m also temporarily living away from home in Australia, so I’ll still be writing personal posts concerning my experiences, with wildlife photos and videos which help keep my family up-to-date. But I’m also a blogger, with an interest in design and a few other areas, so I’ll be writing and designing too.

My friend, it seems you are already writing to a niche, just you don’t know it. Good niches come naturally and when you look to hard you really can’t see the wood for the trees.
A suggestion for you is to look local. Think about local products and things and that is an instant niche.

Faith the word you use i also very religious and know full faith helps you to achieve all the things. All changes but real faith never change.

Your advice is by and large excellent.
My only concern about this information is that I tend to grimace when I hear the word WordPress.
Don’t get me wrong, I have heard some very good things about the program itself.
However, it is the WorDPress users who have an Akismet trigger finger that are beginning to give WordPress a bad name.
I don’t know how wide ranging the practice is, but many WordPress blog owners use Akismet to silence those, not for spamming, but rather for expressing a different view from that of the blog owner.
The Akismet data base can be a very valuable vehicle for filtering outspammers, but I am afraid that it is becoming a censorship tool as well, and that bothers me a lot.
I don’t wish to be associated with a platform that has hurt legitimate commentors as well as spammers, but I don’t know how this can be fought.
I am looking for a way to accept WordPress as a platform but not have my readers be put off initially because they have somewhere else been subject to an Akismet fascist blogger.
I need advice.

Good luck with your new approach. One idea for your problem when it comes to sticking with one niche would be to create multiple blogs, each covering a different topic.
Akismet is blocking from iffect.net any of our grad students who use toyperiod.com as a home page.
Let me explain.
With few exceptions, our business graduate students have been rejected by sites using Akismet.
All it takes is one request from a blogger anywhere for Akismet to ban any home site, whether the blogger is delivering spam or not. (None of our graduate students deliver spam. They are very intelligent commenters who like and enjoy your site, but have stopped visiting here, because Akismet is blocking them on your behalf.)
I am taking the time to write this because I believe your blog to be of high quality, and one from which both you and our graduate students would profit.
If you wish to have our grad students resume visiting your blog, please e-mail me at the College at avoisin@lindachristas.org, and I will place you on our faculty chart as a welcoming blog.
However, Akismet will have to lift the ban on ToysPeriod for you, or you will have to unplug your blog from Akismet.

If you have not blocked ToyPeriod personally, that is even worse. Akismet has been known to universalize blocking.
